"We Knights value individuality. We are a gathering of individuals, and we do not unite. But I want to believe that through the experience we’ve gained from many, many battles, we have formed a bond between us. I want to believe we’ve become comrades with the same will. No, that we have become like a family."

The weeds are not as organized as the flocks... so I feel it is more difficult for them to come by food, especially if they do not possess skills in hunting and gathering. Most of the flocks have been steadily storing food, I think. My own is quite fortunate, as we have three who can hunt, and we are raising quail for their eggs. There are a few gardens, too.
I cannot speak wholly to each individual flock, though. In the past, pipes burst and some of the flocks lost all of the food they had stored. So I think it is important to have food available to anyone who might need it.
[He has to think for a moment-]
As for our fruit, we have just been donating it to others. Food outside of that may vary. A couple of individuals have agreed to make pre-made meals from the resources they already have when they can afford it. Some dishes can be made by the fruits and veggies growing in the gardens or on barn property. Other things like flour must be harvested from cattails. A good deal of our food intake comes from hunting and fishing the animals outside of the pasture, though.

Weeds can hunt and use the garden spaces that aren’t right up at the barns if they want, but they don’t really have a centralized kitchen or food storage right now, the way you guys do? Is there any other weird restriction on the resources here I should be aware of?
Re: day 81, after the initial paper ruckus has died down
Date: 2024-05-22 05:03 (UTC)For instance, it would be difficult for the weeds to store much, as they lack places where they might keep food in cold storage. My hope is that they might utilize the refrigerators and freezers a bit in the cafeteria at least. And I suppose we all ought to be learning how to pickle and jar food for the colder months once more.
Re: day 81, after the initial paper ruckus has died down

Last thing. I heard we mostly get stuff through quests, but Weeds have a harder time doing business with the local shopkeep. If I asked around to see if someone on a flock was willing to trade getting a quest for me—for a couple of chest freezers and a hot plate, say—am I gonna get laughed out of this pasture?
I think everyone who’s got Weeds pegged as scattered isn’t wrong, but it really wouldn’t take much to be doing better than this.
Re: day 81, after the initial paper ruckus has died down
Date: 2024-05-22 05:21 (UTC)If you require help, you are free to approach us at Bluebell. I am sure we would all be willing to help so long as the payment is not something so drastic as death and murder.
[ . . . And even then some of Bluebell would be standing up.]

Even just the info helps me out a lot, though, thank you. I’ll pass by Bluebell soon if it does seem better to make the request through you guys, but, uh, not right now.
If you head outdoors avoid anything made out of paper, all right? And doublecheck any plants are real before handling ‘em. It’s getting a bit wacky out here if you’re not a Weed.
Re: day 81, after the initial paper ruckus has died down
Date: 2024-05-22 06:03 (UTC)Of course. I shall be careful. Perhaps I shall stick close to home today. Thank you for the warning.
Please do not hesitate to stop by Bluebell for help later if you require it.

Ah. Forgive me if this is nosy—but are you all right?
Re: day 81, after the initial paper ruckus has died down
Date: 2024-05-22 21:56 (UTC)Oh! Yes. I am perfectly well. Just worried, I suppose, about the latest development in the pasture. Hopefully, the strange paper event will pass quickly. I am simply desiring that from the bottom of my heart.
Re: day 81, after the initial paper ruckus has died down
Date: 2024-05-25 20:36 (UTC)I know it’s not easy to trust strangers here, but, uh. If someone on Bluebell gets hit with the paper thing, you can send ‘em my way and I’ll get rid of it without any trouble, all right? Weeds aren’t affected or anything, so it’s no skin off my nose.
